Destinations: New Brunswick: Miramichi

Day 1: Charlottetown, PE - Miramichi, NB

Depart Charlottetown for Miramichi with pickups en route. After we cross into New Brunswick via Confederation Bridge, our first stop will be the Olivier Soapery, Canada's first and largest micro-soapery. The lively and entertaining shows take you through the history of the Acadians and you will learn all about beauty, cosmetics and skin care. Olivier Soapery is a living museum, a library, an art gallery and a boutique.

This afternoon, we visit Le Pays de la Sagouine for a traditional Acadian meal. After lunch, you can join the Acadian Kitchen Party Experience and learn the Acadian culture though its history, past and present!

After our visit, we travel to the Miramichi to check in for our two-night stay. We will have dinner at a local restaurant followed by the Miramichi Kitchen Party. This will be an evening of music and culture in a down home kitchen atmosphere. You will hear some of the area's best entertainers and you enjoy great desserts and refreshments.

Day 2: Miramichi, NB

This morning we will have a guided tour of the area. Our first stop with be the Central New Brunswick Woodsmen's Museum. Journey back in time when Boiestown was a bustling lumbering town and lumber men carved a living for the forest.

Our next visit will be the Atlantic Salmon Museum which houses a very extensive collection of artifacts and interpretive displays that tell the story of the sport of fly fishing and the life and history of the Atlantic salmon.

After lunch, we will visit the Metepenagiag Heritage Park for a truly authentic aboriginal experience. You will learn about the life of the Mi'kmaq and their story that has been handed down from ancestors dating back over 3000 years.

We return to our hotel and get ready for dinner. Tonight, we will have dinner at Bistro 140 on Richie's wharf followed by an evening boat cruise with Captain Azade Hache on the Max Aitken. Captain Hache will share with you the stories of the river and its history.

Day 3: Miramichi, NB - Charlottetown, PE

We check out and travel to Moncton stopping at the Champlain Mall for lunch and some shopping. We depart for home at 2:00 pm and arrive in Charlottetown at approximately 4:00 pm with many fond memories of our Acadian & Miramichi Discovery Tour.

Cancellation Terms

In the event of cancellation, the following penalties will apply:

-Between April 2, 2012 to day of departure and after departure: 100% of the total tour price will be retained.

Cancellation Insurance is available and strongly recommended.
