Day 1: Depart Halifax, NS for Lima, Peru
Fly into Lima, Peru (airfare and inflight meals included) and transfer to your hotel for the evening.
Day 2: Lima/Cuzco/Sacred Valley
A morning flight from Lima to Cuzco then transfer by bus to the Sacred Valley. With the Urbamba River as its source, the Sacred Valley is a broad fertile valley that was the major agricultural area of the Incas. Visit a local market to see how the alpaca wool is dyed and woven into garments. Overnight in the town of Ollantaytambo. (B, L, D)
Day 3: Machu Picchu, Peru
This morning, the first-class train will take you on a breathtaking journey to Machu Picchu, once known as ‘the hidden city of the Inca', situated so high in the Andes Mountains. that. Following lunch in the town of Aguas Calientes, visit Machu Picchu. The visit will literally leave you breathless. Overnight stay in Aguas Calientes. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Cuzco, Peru
There is free time this morning in Aguas Calientes to explore this unique setting on your own or return to visit Machu Picchu once more for a visit. (Entrance fee not included) An afternoon train will take you back into the Sacred Valley and on into Cuzco for a 2-night stay. (B, L)
Day 5: Cuzco, Peru
Tour Cuzco where the streets and walls are intricately carved from stone. Visit the archeological site of Sacsayhuaman to get wonderful views out over the city. Cuzco sits at the 11,000 foot level and is one of the most interesting cities in South America. Visit the handicraft center with extraordinary hand-woven textiles. (B, D)
Day 6: Lima, Peru
Transfer to the Cuzco Airport for an included flight into Lima. A local guide will point out some of the many highlights and attractions of the city. Overnight in Lima. (B, D)
Day 7: Cuzco, Peru - Santiago, Chile/ Puerto Montt, Chile
An included morning flight from Lima, Peru to Santiago, Chile then connecting to Puerto Montt, in the lakes district of Chile, for a 2-night stay. (B, D)
Day 8: Puerto Montt, Chile
Enjoy an orientation tour of Puerto Montt and a visit to the local fish market to check out the daily catch. Lunch at a local seafood restaurant. Later, travel towards the mountains and into the National Park to enjoy the views that are reminiscent of Switzerland. On the way back to Puerto Montt, visit a farm specializing in dairy. Partake of a Chilean-German afternoon tea. Return to Puerto Montt for the night. (B, L)
Day 9: Osorno, Chile
Today, drive north through pastoral country to visit with local farmers. This area has the highest concentration of beef and dairy cattle in Chile. Enjoy a barbeque lunch on a farm before checking into the hotel in Osorno for the night. (B, L)
Day 10: Temuco, Chile
Today will be a leisurely drive to Temuco, a major agricultural center, for a 2-night stay. (B, L)
Day 11: Temuco, Chile
Today, meet with the local agricultural advisers to who will take you to visit a mixed farming operation of grains, potatoes, dairy and beef productions. There is the possibility of seeing the ‘lupin' harvest, which is used for the fish farms. Lunch today will include grass-fed Chilean beef. Return to hotel later in the afternoon. (B, L)
Day 12: Temuco - Santiago, Chile
Visit a local alpaca farm before taking the short flight back to Santiago and check into the hotel for an overnight stay. Tour the historic part of the city and visit San Cristobel Hill for a lovely view over the city and valley then travel to a local restaurant for dinner with local cultural dancing. (B, D)
Day 13: Depart Santiago, Chile for Halifax, NS
Today, travel south of the city to visit a large export fruit producer and research station. Later visit a vineyard for lunch, including wine tasting and a tour. Transfer to the airport for an overnight flight (airfare and inflight meals included) back to Halifax. (B, L)
Day 14: Arrive Halifax
Arrive home with fond memories of your time in Peru and Chile.

- Peru: At the airport, a departure tax of US $30.25 is charged for travelers departing to any international destination. There is also a national tax of US $6.05 for travelers departing to any domestic destination.
- Chile: No visa is required by Canadians. All tourists are given a tourist card, valid for 90 days. This card must be presented prior to departure. Upon arrival by air, there is a US$132 entry free payable in cash or credit card and the receipt is regarded as a multiple entry visa and is valid until expiry of your passport.
- Rates are also subject to US $543.26 per person in goverment/airline taxes.
