Your adventure begins! Meet your Atlantic Tours tour director and driver when you board your comfortable motorcoach in Halifax, or a point along the way, as you travel to Edmundston for the night.
DAY 2: May 31, 2024
Edmundston NB to Ottawa ON
Today’s journey takes you along the shores of the St. Lawrence River and through the province of Quebec to Ontario. Spend four nights in the heart of Ottawa at the elegant and historic Lord Elgin Hotel. The hotel is conveniently located a stone’s throw away from the Rideau Canal, Confederation Park, Parliament Hill and dozens of shops and restaurants. (Breakfast)
DAY 3: June 1, 2024
Ottawa by Day & Night
This morning, enjoy a tour by motorcoach of our nation’s capital. The tour showcases Ottawa’s important landmarks as you learn about its past and present. Foodies will be delighted during a lunchtime tasting tour of Byward Market. Discover local flavours and maybe a new favourite! In the evening, see the spooky side of Ottawa during a haunted walking tour. During this 75-minute walking tour, your guide will regale you with chilling ghost stories and lead you to some of the city’s most haunted spots. (Breakfast, Lunchtime Food Tour)
DAY 4: June 2, 2024
The Diefenbunker and Mādahòkì Farm
Located in nearby Carp is The Diefenbunker: Canada’s Cold War Museum. Nicknamed after then Prime Minister John Diefenbaker, this massive 4-story bunker was constructed between 1959 and 1961 75 feet underground to shelter Canada’s top officials in the event of a nuclear war. Today, visitors can tour the bunker and experience a part of our recent history. Next, visit Mādahòkì Farm, Canada’s only Indigenous Agri-tourism destination and working farm. The farm’s cultural ambassadors share some of their traditional teachings and stories as you enjoy Indigenous teas and cook your own Bannock over a rustic bonfire. There may even be time to see the rare Ojibway Spirit Horses, an endangered horse breed Indigenous to these traditional lands. (Breakfast)
DAY 5: June 3, 2024
Explore Ottawa
Today is completely at your leisure. Your tour director is available to make suggestions. Why not visit the Canadian Museum of History or Canadian War Museum? How about a peak inside the Parliament buildings? Do you fancy a bicycle ride along the historic Rideau Canal? Or, maybe you’d enjoy beer tasting or a boat tour on the Ottawa River? DAY 6: June 4, 2024
Ottawa ON to Quebec City QC
Say farewell to Ottawa as you return to Quebec and on to charming and historic Quebec City for a two-night stay. Enjoy a tour of the city by motorcoach before checking into the Hotel Manoir Victoria. Situated within the walls of the old city, this hotel is the perfect location for exploring the history and culture of this wonderful place. (Breakfast)
