Come and explore thousands of years of culture, history, and traditions of the Ancients who dwelt in this region prior to the creation of the United States. Starting with the Archaic period, then the Ancestral Pueblo or (Anasazi), then the Pueblo and Navajo Indians still living on these lands today, you will have the opportunity to follow their trails and discover them again on this seven-day adventure throughout the Southwest.

Pick up at the Crown Plaza Albuquerque or the Hilton Garden Inn Airport at 8:00 AM
Day 1: Albuquerque to Chinle, NM
Pick up in Albuquerque, NM. Transfer to Sky City Pueblo. Explore one of the longest inhabited dwelling sites in North America with this mesa top city. Learn about the culture and some of the traditions of these people on the tour of the Pueblo and also through their cultural center and museum. Afterwards, we will travel to Chinle, NM where you will lodge for the evening. (Lunch)
Day 2: Chinle, NM to Bluff, UT
Enjoy the morning exploring and learning the history of Canyon De Chelly. This site has history with the Ancestral Pueblo Indians and Navajo Indians. Learn about the unique geology that makes this site desirable to inhabit for both groups and other items as we drive along the rims and overlook this site.
Once finished, travel north to Monument Valley and enjoy a 2-hour tour inside the valley. Visit the Mittens, and other viewpoints made famous by countless films throughout the years. Also, learn about the history of the Navajo Indians, prospectors, and settlers that have dwelt here for thousands of years. Experience the hospitality of the Navajo Indians and learn about their culture as we stop at one of their Hogans, their traditional dwellings for hundreds of years.
Once finished, you will travel north from Monument Valley to Mexican Hat for a photo of this unique geological feature before traveling to your hotel for the evening in Bluff, UT. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 3: Bluff, UT to Cortez, CO
After a delicious breakfast, and a brief stop at the Sand Island Petroglyph Panel and the Goosenecks of the San Juan River, you will travel up the Moki Dugway to Natural Bridges, NM. Here you will have the opportunity to hike out to various viewpoints or if interested, hike down to some of these beautiful natural bridges. These are some of the largest ones in the world. You will also get to see a unique ruin found within the canyon called horseshoe ruin.
Once finished in Natural Bridges, you will travel through Blanding, UT and proceed through Hoovenweep National Monument. This seldom visited monument offers some unique ruins that you can visit and an opportunity to explore more of the Ancestral Pueblo history and their culture in this area.
Once finished you will continue to Cortez, CO where you will lodge for the evening. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 4: Cortez, CO to Aztec, NM
Mesa Verde NP offers the opportunity to explore fantastic cliff dwellings situated throughout the park and also one of the largest exhibits of pit houses and row houses in the region. This will enable you to learn about the culture and history of the people prior to their dwelling in Cliff Houses and Pueblo dwellings most prominent throughout the region.
After exploring the park, you will travel to Aztec, NM and finish the day exploring the Aztec, NM pueblo site. This site offers you the opportunity to see fantastically preserved Pueblo Dwellings and a large Kiva that has been restored as best of possible. Along with this Kiva, you also will get to explore inside the ruins and explore the unique construction techniques for these large pueblos, along with other unique things found particular to this site.
Once finished, you will retire to your hotel in Aztec, NM for the evening. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 5: Aztec, NM to Santa Fe, NM
Today you will travel south to Chaco Canyon NM and explore the ruins found within this canyon. Chetro Ketle, Plaza Bonito, New Alto, and other areas are all available. These areas offer you the opportunity to see the Ancestral Pueblo dwellings at the height of their civilization. These massive cities create the cultural center of the Ancestral Pueblo communities in the regions you have visited throughout the week. Roads and other things complete the connections of this site to the surrounding communities.
Afterwards, you will travel to Santa Fe, NM for the rest of the evening. This city played an important role with the influx of European Settlers into this region starting in the late 1500’s. While here, you will have the opportunity to visit the unique buildings and locations in town that played a role in the settlement of this region. You will lodge in the downtown area and will have the evening free to explore the town on your own.(Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 6: Santa Fe
This morning, you will enjoy breakfast and a walking tour of the downtown area. Explore and experience the historic buildings, plaza’s, chapels, and other unique areas within this downtown area. After lunch in one of the downtown restaurants, you depart Santa Fe, NM in the morning, you will travel to Tent Rocks National Monument explore other unique parts of the history of this area. Tent Rocks is a result of the volcanic activities that helped shape this region. These unique formations are beautifully sculpted rocks and a delight to explore. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 7: Santa Fe to Albuquerque for Departure
On the way to Albuquerque, NM, you will stop at one last spot, Bandelier National Monument. Bandelier NM is another of the region’s unique Ancestral Pueblo dwelling sites. Carved out of the rocks, this site offers you the opportunity to explore an alternative dwelling to the other Pueblo, Mesa Top, and Cliff Dwellings that were found in this region.
Once finished with this site, you will continue into Albuquerque, NM to catch lunch at El Pinto, a fantastic restaurant in this area, then you will say farewell as your catch your flight at the airport or get dropped off at one of the local hotels. (Breakfast)
Depart for Albuquerque, NM. Any flight after 3:00 pm is ok.

Deposit: $600 per person due at time of booking. Final payment due 30 days prior to departure.
* No refunds for cancellations within 30 days of departure for all multi-day tours.
* Cancellations 31 days or more prior to departure receive a 10% cancellation fee the full price of the tour.
* Any monies not refunded will be available to apply to a future tour or trip for 2 years from the day of the cancellation.
* A 10% charge will be applied to all tours that are rescheduled within 30 days of the tour. This will be 10% of the full price of the tour.
