How do I make a reservation?

How far in advance should I book my tour?
We recommend booking as soon as you know the tour and departure you would like to take. Space is limited and based upon availability at the time of booking!

Are your tours Guaranteed to travel?
Many of our tours throughout Atlantic Canada are Guaranteed departures, meaning that you can book your tour with confidence and not be disappointed!
Look for the Yellow Star and word "Guaranteed!" to distinguish these tours.  

What are your office hours?
We are open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Atlantic Standard Time. 

What forms of payment do you accept?
Atlantic Tours accepts payment by cheque, etransfer, VISA, Mastercard, and American Express.

Before You Go

What Identification do I need to bring with me?
If you are Canadian traveling within Canada, one piece of photo ID is required
If you are Canadian traveling to the United States or Internationally, you must have a passport that will be valid for 6 months after the date of return
If you are an international visitor entering Canada, your Passport, Visa and Entry Requirements are solely your responsibility
Atlantic Tours assumes no responsibility for any individual who cannot provide this documentation or is denied entrance at any border

When will I receive the tour documents for my tour?
Tour Documents are typically emailed at least 3 weeks prior to the departure date, providing full payment has been received. If you prefer to have the documents mailed to you, please let us know and we can accommodate.

Where do I meet the tour?
This depends on the tour you have booked and will be listed on your tour documents. Please contact us for pickup locations pertaining to your specific tour.

Can I leave my car at the pickup location?
For the majority of our tours, parking for the duration of the tour is not included and arrangement must be made on your own.

What should I pack?
This really depends on where you are going! We do recommend you prepare or all types of weather and bring a variety of clothes.
Don't forget to have any prescriptions you may need in their original bottles, passport/photo ID, copies of your travel insurance policy along with anything else you may need!

Do I need to be vaccinated?
The health and safety of guests remain top priority and while we highly recommend travelers are vaccinated against COVID-19, after Mar. 1, 2023, we no longer require vaccination for our tours. Some destinations and transportation operators - like airlines - have their own rules and regulations and we will follow policies as laid out by other providers. It is the responsibility of travelers to understand and comply with those policies.

What currency do I need?
It is recommended to bring a small amount of the local currency and use debit/credit cards along the way- it's not advisable to carry large amounts of cash. While many places in Canada will accept US Dollar, the exchange rate will vary.

Escorted Motor Coach Vacations

How many people will be on my tour?
Regular Group Departures - 48
Small Group Departures - 26

How often do we stop for breaks?
Our motor coach tours will stop at least every two hours for a comfort stop, meal, sightseeing attraction.

How much luggage can I bring?
You are allowed one checked bag (not exceeding 50lbs/23kilo) and one carry-on bag that you must be able to take on and off the coach unassisted

Do you do a seat rotation?
All motor coach tours operated by Atlantic Tours & Travel operate a seat rotation, except Shopping Tours.
Preferred Seating can only be purchased on our shopping tours and payment must be received when it is reserved. Subject to availability.

Are gratuities included?
On motor coach tours operated by Atlantic Tours & Travel, gratuities for all included sightseeing, meals and attractions are included. Customary gratuities for the Tour Director and Driver are not included. The recommended industry standard is $8 - $10 per day per Tour Director and Driver, however, gratuities are at your discretion. 

What time do we leave in the morning/what time do we get to the hotel in the evening?
Each tour varies - many have morning departures between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM and arrive back to the hotel between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM each day. Your Tour Director will provide the specific daily departure times while you are on tour.

Self-Drive Vacations

What is the difference between and escorted and self-drive vacation?
While on an escorted vacation, you will enjoy not having to worry about doing the driving and will receive commentary and information along the way from your experienced Tour Director.
Self-drive vacations allow you to see more of the region at your own pace. Your hotels, ferry reservations and a number of attractions are arranged for you, but other than that you are free to explore on your own.

Is the car rental included in the cost of the tour?
No, the car rental is not included. We can help you make this reservation, however- please contact us for more information on rates. 

Can I modify I self-drive vacation?
Yes, our self-drive vacations are fully customizable- talk to us about your thoughts!

Do you offer travel protection?
We strongly recommend that you purchase travel protection to insure your financial investment and ensure that you have a safe trip. You can obtain a quote here.

Are your tours suitable for persons with mobility issues and/or disabilities?
All passengers must be able to travel independently, and if one cannot, it is best to have a traveling companion who is able to assist them during the tour. Certain activities or venues may in inaccessible if your mobility is limited in any manner. Some excursions and sightseeing involve periods of walking and standing on uneven surfaces, and may include staircases, walkways, or locations that are narrow or have limited accessibility by wheelchair or walker. We recommend you discuss with an Atlantic Tours reservation staff member to determine if the itinerary is suitable for you and your travelling companions. 

Do you allow children on your tours?
Our tours are typically geared towards seniors and we don't recommend them for anyone under the age of 12.

What is your smoking policy?
Smoking is not permitted on any of our motor coaches. Smokers may smoke at any of the stops, while always ensuring that they follow the smoking policy of the region they are in.

Do you make considerations for people with allergies?
If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, please ensure to let us know when you book and we will do our very best to accommodate.

All our Tour Directors live in Atlantic Canada and love to showcase the region and beyond!
