Some areas of interest include the walk along the harbour, including the Solfar Voyager statue, Harpa Concert Hall, or the Vikin Maritime Museum. For the best view of the city, ride the elevator to the top of Hallgrimskirkja - the architecturally famous church in Reykjavik.

Day 2: Westman Islands
From Reykjavik, our first stop today is the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. We then travel along the south coast to Landeyjahofn harbour. After arriving at the pier, we take a 30 minute ferry ride to the Westman Islands. Once there, we will explore Heimaey, the largest island in the Westman Islands archipelago. Other adventures of the day include: a visit to the puffins in Storhofdi, a walk up to the crater of a volcano that erupted only three decades ago, and exploring flora of the new lava field. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the island.

Overnight on the Westman Islands (Breakfast)

Day 3: South Shore - Skogar - Vik
After breakfast we take the ferry back and travel further along the south shore. Pass numerous glacial rivers to Skogafoss waterfall. A famous folk museum is nearby, showcasing the buildings and daily life of Icelanders in the past centuries. Next travel to the new Lava Center - an interactive, high-tech exhibit about volcanic activities. Continue on to the black sand beaches of Reynisfjara. Here you can witness the powerful waves and amazing basalt column features carved by the power of the sea.

Dinner and overnight in the Vik area. (Breakfast and Dinner)

Day 4: Vik - Skaftafell - Jokulsarlon
Cross Eldhraun, the largest mass of lava ever to flow over the face of the Earth, before reaching the small town Kirkjubaejarklaustur, the former site of a 12th-century Catholic convent.  Head onwards to Skaftafell National Park, one of Iceland's most outstanding areas of natural beauty. Continue to the stunning Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon to see floating icebergs and maybe a curious seal or two. An optional boat trip takes you on a sail between the floating icebergs. Throughout the day, you will enjoy magnificent views of the Vatnajokull Glacier.

Day 5: Gullfoss - Geysir - Thingvellir - Reykjavik

Our next stop if Thingvellir National Park, where the ancient parliament met for centuries on the shore of Iceland's largest lake. We head back to Reykjavik for the night.
