The Art of Lace Knitting with Shirl the Purl (3 days)
Join best-selling knitting author and designer Shirley Anne Scott – Shirl the Purl - for a weekend of skills, sociability and laughs as she shares the fine points of lace knitting while creating a beautiful seasonal accessory that will perk up your holiday wardrobe. The Pines Festive Lace Cowl, an original design by Shirl the Purl, incorporates many of the essential stitches in lace knitting; importantly you'll learn how to block it professionally.
You bring along a 4 mm circular needle 40 cm long – they’ll supply the rest! The weekend happens in the luxurious surroundings of Digby Pines Golf Resort & Spa complete with delicious meals, personal sugar-scrub hand massage, pop-up "knitting market", opportunities to interact and view the work of some 100+ quilters building their quilts in Digby Hall that same weekend, hear stories and enjoy great company. There's time in the program to enjoy The Pines, a walk around our woodland trails and spa treatment specials for knitters (not included in package price).

Over the course of the weekend, learn the art of lace knitting with instruction by Shirley Anne Scott as you create a beautiful Pines Festival Lace cowl in private and comfortable surroundings. When not knitting, spend your time at the onsite pop-up yarn & knit supplies market for inspiration for your next project and indulge in a personal sugar scrub hand treatment from The Spa at The Pines. On Saturday evening, enjoy a group dinner with your fellow knitters at the resort’s Churchill Restaurant.
