DAY 1: September 13, 2024
Halifax NS to Bathurst NB
Your adventure begins! Meet your Atlantic Tours tour director and driver when you board your comfortable motorcoach in Halifax, or a point along the way. After crossing into New Brunswick, an unforgettable culinary experience awaits as you enjoy a delicious lobster lunch on a lobster boat. The remainder of the day is spent travelling to Bathurst for your first overnight. (Lunch)
DAY 2: September 14, 2024
Bathurst NB to Matane QC
Begin your day with a visit to Battle of the Restigouche National Historic Site. It was here the last naval battle occurred between France and Great Britain in 1760 as they fought for possession of North America. Continue through the Matapédia Valley to Reford Gardens/Jardins de Métis, a colourful oasis along the banks of the St. Lawrence River. Stroll the garden’s more than 200 acres, featuring native and exotic plants displayed in fifteen gardens. Tonight, stay in the seaside town of Matane. (Breakfast, Dinner)
DAY 3: September 15, 2024
Matane QC to Percé QC
The journey between Matane and Percé offers truly magnificent sea and mountain scenery. It may even rival our own world-famous Cabot Trail! Enjoy a day of sightseeing as you travel along the shores of the St-Lawrence River to the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Spend the next two nights in the charming village of Percé. Explore its colourful streets lined with boutiques, artist studios, restaurants, and cafés. (Breakfast)
DAY 4: September 16, 2024
Percé Rock, Bonaventure Island & Leisure Time
Today, take a boat tour around one of Quebec’s most iconic natural wonders: Percé Rock. Marvel how its massive limestone cliffs reach majestically out of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Also, see Bonaventure Island, home to more than 280,000 birds and the world’s largest gannet colony. After the boat tour, the remainder of the day is at your leisure. (Breakfast)
DAY 5: September 17, 2024
Percé QC to Miramichi NB
Your journey continues along the Bay of Chaleur to Paspébiac National Historic Site. During your visit to the site’s period buildings, discover its key role in the exporting of dried cod during the 19th century. Return to New Brunswick and on to the city of Miramichi for the last night of your tour. This evening, join your fellow travellers for a Miramichi Kitchen Party. Enjoy story telling and music featuring the history and culture of the area. (Breakfast, Dinner)
DAY 6: September 18, 2024
Miramichi NB to Halifax NS
Learn about the natural beauty and history of one of the few remaining great sand dunes on the northeastern coastline of North America at the La Dune de Bouctouche. Your journey continues homeward, having made wonderful memories during your Gaspé Getaway! (Breakfast)
