Your Springtime in Mennonite Country and The Thousand Islands adventure begins! Meet your Atlantic Tours tour director and driver when you board your comfortable motorcoach in Halifax, or a point along the way, as you travel to Edmundston for the night.
DAY 2: Tuesday, June 1, 2027
Edmundston NB to Cornwall ON
Today takes you through Quebec, along the shores of the St. Lawrence River, past Quebec City and Montreal to Cornwall, your home for the night. (Breakfast)
DAY 3: Wednesday, June 2, 2027
Cornwall ON to Waterloo - St. Jacobs ON
From Cornwall, your journey continues through Ontario to Mennonite Country in the Waterloo Region. Spend three nights near the charming village of St. Jacobs. Rich in Mennonite heritage, the area offers a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This evening, an authentic family-style Mennonite dinner awaits, featuring hearty traditional dishes made with local ingredients. (Breakfast, Dinner)
DAY 4: Thursday, June 3, 2027
Mennonite Country Touring
Start your day at The Mennonite Story Museum as you learn about the history of the Mennonites from their beginnings in Europe to their migration to North America. The experience continues with a guided countryside tour, passing traditional Mennonite communities as you gain a deeper understanding of their way of life. Experience a beloved Waterloo Region tradition, and Canada’s largest year-round farmer’s market: The St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market. The market is home to over 300 local vendors offering farm-fresh produce, artisanal foods, crafts and unique finds. It’s still common to see the Old Order Mennonite attend the market via horse and buggy. Take a fun train trip of the area on the Waterloo Central Railway. (Breakfast)
DAY 5: Friday, June 4, 2027
Touring the Waterloo Region
Enjoy some free time this morning to relax or explore the unique sights and quaint shops in St. Jacobs village Afterwards, head to Doon Heritage Village, a picturesque living history village focusing on life in 1914. While on site, enjoy an Old Order Mennonite kitchen experience. Find out about typical meals and sample some Mennonite favourites from the early 20th century. No trip to the Waterloo Region would be complete without experiencing traditional food at a local German schenke (pub/tavern). (Breakfast, Dinner)
DAY 6: Saturday, June 5, 2027
Waterloo - St. Jacobs ON to Kingston ON
Your return journey eastward begins today but not before staying two nights in Kingston, the Limestone City. Did you know that Kingston was the first capital of Upper Canada? Learn this and more during a guided tour of Kingston. After time to fresh up at your hotel, join your fellow travellers for a sunset dinner cruise, one of the most spectacular ways to see The Thousand Islands. Enjoy live music and commentary as you pass small cottage islands and grand estates while having a three-course meal. (Breakfast, Dinner)
DAY 7: Sunday, June 6, 2027
Touring Kingston
Undoubtedly Canada’s most notorious prison, Kingston Penitentiary incarcerated criminals for over 170 years. During a guided tour, hear personalized accounts from former staff and learn about the history and daily routines of the prison, including stories of escapes and riots, all while exploring its living and working areas. The remainder of the day is free to explore Kingston on your own. (Breakfast)

Kingston ON to Edmundston NB
