Rivière-du-Loup QC to Sherbrooke QC
Nestled between Quebec City and Montreal are Quebec’s Eastern Townships. Did you know that National Geographic named it one of Canada’s 50 Places of a Lifetime? Over the next 3 days, learn why it is such a special place. In Magog, enjoy a scenic boat cruise while you relax and sip on a beverage of your choice. Three Pines Touring
Over the next two days, you are joined by a local guide from Three Pines Tours. How many of these places do you feel you already know from the twenty Chief Inspector Gamache novels? Visit Manoir Bellechasse, the elegant lakeside estate from “A Rule Against Murder”. In real life, the beautiful Manoir Hovey has been welcoming guests for well over a century. Tour the Haskell Free Library & Opera House. This stunning landmark – built on the international border – is a long-lasting symbol of the friendship between our two nations as it continues to serve the area’s cultural needs. Also stop at St. George’s Anglican Church and the J.B. LeBaron General Store, the inspiration for St. Thomas Church and Monsieur Beliveau’s General Store from “The Cruellest Month”. DAY 4: Tuesday, October 5, 2027
Three Pines Touring
Your Three Pines adventure continues with a guided tour of Saint-Gilbert-Entre-Les-Loups Monastery. You may recognize it from “The Beautiful Mystery”. Nestled among mountains and overlooking a stunning lake, the actual Abbey Saint-Benoit-du-Lac exudes peace and tranquility. No tour would be complete without time in Knowlton, the heart and soul of Three Pines. It is considered one of Quebec’s most beautiful villages. Visit the Lac-Brome Museum to catch a glimpse into the life and history of the Eastern Townships during various times in its history. No tour inspired by a fictional character and locale would be complete without a stop at Myrna’s Bookstore, the real-life Brome Lake Books! You’ll have time to browse and pick up any of those Louise Penny books you may be missing from your collection. (Breakfast, Lunch)
DAY 5: Wednesday, October 6, 2027
Sherbrooke QC to Quebec City QC
Your Quebec adventure doesn’t end yet! This morning, after saying au revoir to Three Pines, travel to everyone’s favourite: Quebec City! Enjoy a tour of the city by motorcoach of Quebec’s capital city. Let yourself be charmed by Old Quebec, the only walled city north of Mexico, as you learn about the area’s past and present. Your hotel is a stone’s throw from Old Quebec and is the perfect location for exploring the history and culture of this wonderful place at your leisure. (Breakfast)
DAY 6: Thursday, October 7, 2027
Quebec City QC to Edmundston NB
At one and a half times the height of Niagara Falls, Montmorency Falls is a spectacular sight year-round. A ride on the cable car offers beautiful views of the Falls, the St. Lawrence River, Ile d’Orléans and Quebec City. After lunch, travel back to New Brunswick for the last night of the tour. (Breakfast, Lunch)
DAY 7: Friday, October 8, 2027
Homeward Bound!
Your homeward journey continues through New Brunswick, back to Nova Scotia having experienced some of the delights of Quebec’s Eastern Townships made famous by Louise Penny’s irrepressible Chief Inspector Gamache! (Breakfast)
