A local guide will meet you upon arrival in Saint-Pierre as you transfer by bus to your perfectly located hotel for a three-night stay. Feel free to join your guide for a short orientation walking tour of Saint-Pierre’s downtown. Shops and points of interest will be shown. Then, this evening, enjoy a meal in one of Saint-Pierre’s most iconic historic locales followed by an engaging talk with a local historian as you learn about Saint-Pierre & Miquelon’s colourful history. (Dinner)
Please note: As there is no Sunday shopping in Saint-Pierre, this is your opportunity to visit the area’s shops. Or, you may choose to relax at the hotel or explore on your own before dinner.
DAY 2: August 29
Day Trip to Miquelon
Did you know Atlantic Tours is one of the few tour companies to include a full day excursion to Miquelon? After arriving by ferry in Miquelon, a local guide will create a memorable experience of natural and cultural discovery. Visit the local interpretation centre which highlights and raises awareness of the natural richness of the archipelago. Enjoy a walking tour of the village of Miquelon, including notable buildings, the church and other points of interest. After a lunch featuring local products, board a bus for further exploration of Miquelon as you discover the beauty and uniqueness of this landscape with your local guide. Have your camera at the ready as you may see wild horses and, around the rocky coast, seals and birds. Return to Saint-Pierre for the evening. (Continental Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Please note: In order to visit Miquelon on this tour, due to the ferry schedule, Saturday is the only day in which it is feasible.
Please note: Continental breakfasts in France include pastries, bread, cereal, yogurt, juice and tea or coffee. These are the standard offerings, and additional items are generally not available.
DAY 3: August 30
Sailor's Island and the Heritage Museum
Begin your day with a guided visit to the Heritage Museum. Set in one of the oldest commercial buildings on the islands, the museum highlights the social, economic and religious evolution of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon during the last two centuries. Next, a short ferry ride takes you to Sailor’s Island – one of the eight islands of the Saint-Pierre and Miquelon archipelago - for lunch and a walking tour. The visit is intentionally designed at a gentle pace, allowing you to fully appreciate the quiet atmosphere and unique charm of the island. Throughout the visit, your guide shares stories of the fishing families who lived there, the island’s architectural heritage, and the deep cultural ties between Saint-Pierre and the Grand Banks. Before a farewell dinner, join your fellow travellers for a panoramic guided bus tour of Saint-Pierre for another opportunity to further understand the island’s character. (Continental Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Please note: There is no Sunday shopping in Saint Pierre.
Please note: This is the only time it is feasible to offer the guided bus tour of Saint-Pierre.
